      In The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordon, this fantasy story shows the fight between Percy and the Chimera.  The Chimera is the son of Echidna, the Mother of Monsters.  They get into a fight because the bad gods are trying to kill Percy because he is the son of Poseidon.

      Something that Percy learned about himself is that he is a bloodline.  He figured out that he was bloodline because in the story, Echidna had said,”If you are the son of Poseidon, you wouldn’t fear water.  Jump, Percy Jackson.  Show me that water won’t harm you.  Jump and retrieve your sword.  Prove your bloodline.”  Percy didn’t know that he was bloodline because he didn’t trust the gods.

      If you aren’t in big trouble or you don’t have big problems like Percy Jackson, then defend yourself so you won’t get in any.  Well, remember defend yourself.

      The literature book that I’m reading is called Johnny Tremain and the author is Esther Forbes.  A typeof job that I have done is Passage Picker.  A passage picker is a person who picks a passage and who tells what kind of passage that it is.  These are some examples of what kind of passage that the passage might be: sad, enthusiastic, humorous, and good description.

     On Christmas Eve, my family went to my aunt’s house to spend the Christmas there.  We all had a wonderful Christmas celebration.  Also, we celebrated the day that Jesus was born by singing songs and by praying.  After that, we all started to eat.  The food was enriched tamales and bunuelos with punch.  By the time that we finished eating, it was already Christmas morning.  And we all went outside to see the decorations.  The decorations outside my aunt’s house were two Christmas trees and about three deer.

  At home, I went outside and played a little bit of soccer with my next door neighbors.  On New Year’s Eve we all came backto my aunt’s house to celebrate there once again.  (She still had her decorations up.)  Two hours before New Year’s Day we all started dancing.  We all had so much fun that we felt the time flying by.  When it was twenty seconds until New Year’s Day, we all went outside to get ready until the New Year came.  My family and I did a countdown and when it was a New Year, we all (including Soccer Superstar) popped some poppers.  When we had all went home (including me) I started to pray and I told Jesus, “Thank you for letting me enjoy and have a wonderful Winter Vacation.”

     One of my family cultures is to celebrate New Year’s Eve with all of my family.  I call it a Mexican-American New Year’s Eve because my family and I celebrate New Year’s Eve with Mexican food and Mexican games.  Each year, we celebrate New Year’s Eve at different houses so it would be fare with the rest of the family.  Some games that my family and I play at New Year’s Eve are board games, hide-and-go-seek, and sometimes we have a piñata.  My family and I always have fun at New Year’s Eve.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Each Christmas Eve, I go to my aunt’s house to celebrate Christmas with the rest of my family there.  My cousins and I always dance and play games there.  Each time I go to celebrate Christmas somewhere, I always ask if anybody needs help with something.  The best part about going to spend Christmas with my family is that we give each other presents.  My family and I love Christmas a lot because we learn more about Jesus.  Christmas is the best holiday of all.
